Week 2 - Self Introduction, Group Formation and Board Election

At first, we were required to do a brief introduction of ourselves which includes our name, department and hometown so that we got to know our classmates. After breaking the ice session, Dr. Azah have sent a Google Docs link to us, and asked us to form a small group of 4 - 5 persons for the project.

After that, all of us participated in the board election to form our executive body and it was conducted fairly through voting. The voting session was carried out in the Whiteboard in Microsoft Teams and Mohamad Nizar Mustaqeem Bin Mazlan was chosen to be our project leader. The other executive members nominated are shown in the diagram below which include the roles of Deputy, Secretary, Treasurer and 3 members of AJK (Ahli Jawatankuasa). The 3 committee members' roles comprise media, module or content development and multimedia.

Then, we were having a great discussion on the programme sharing slot. During the brainstorming period, several activities were suggested such as "Flowchart and Pseudocode", "3D Printing", "Code Monkey", "Logic Gate" and "Python Babies". It can be clearly seen that most of the activities proposed are related to computer science because this class consists of only Data Science and Information System students. According to Dr. Azah, the voting session for the best project option will be carried out in the following week. Before ending the class, a photo session was taken place and all is well that ends well!

Week 4 - Finalisation of the Module

Date: 1 April 2021 Day: Thursday Although non-face-to-face class was held, Dr. Azah had assigned to us some goals to be achieved beforehand. She also advised the director to finalise the module especially the pre and post questions. It is important to confirm all the activities so the secretary can develop the proposal as soon as possible to be approved by the Head of Department. Week 1 - Introduction and Pro Forma of the Course GIG1005 (Social Engagement)

Date: 11 March 2021 Day: Thursday We began our first class at 9:30a.m. The meeting was conducted via Microsoft Teams platform and we will be using it throughout the whole course of Social Engagement - GIG1005. Social Engagement is a University Course under the Centre for the Initiation of Talent and Industrial Training (CITra) of University of Malaya, Malaysia (UM). During the first session, Dr. Azah Anir Norman introduced herself and discussed the  pro forma  of the course. Dr. Azah is a lecturer at UM from the faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology under Department of Information System. She is such a nice and amiable lecturer.
